We had an amazing team of helpers that got us through our day without any hitches (minus one AMA call to get Janine's car open). We had beautiful weather to complement our great party. It was so exciting to watch it all come together first thing in the morning. It was a great feeling to look around and see everything all ready to go as people started lining up.<br />

<span lang="EN-CA">PTSD is short for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A condition commonly suffered by the members of our Canadian Forces. However as stated on the Vancouver Birth Trauma support group site, around 30% of women are traumatized during the birth of their child and between 2% and 6% go on to develop PTSD. The cause of PTSD for me is from the trauma that I experienced during the labour, delivery and post delivery of my daughter Hannah. Hannah was born Friday, the 5th of September 2008. On September 4th, my first day of Maternity leave and 37 week checkup everything was looking great. I was retaining a lot of water but this had already been happening since my 20th week of pregnancy. My obstetrician was relieved to hear that I was done working and I was looking forward to watching daytime TV for a few weeks. My husband had started his Vehicle Technician training with the Canadian Forces in Borden Ontario a few days prior. He had already had the permission from his Sergeant to take a few days off when Hannah was born. Everything was in place. The 5th, 6th and 7th were my prenatal classes with my best friends who were my coaches in case Nick didn’t make it in time. All that was needed was for me to get some rest as I had been working 12 to 14 hour days up to this point in preparation for my planned four month maternity leave. </span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span lang="EN-CA">Well Hannah had a different plan. On the night of the fourth while skyping with my husband Nick my water broke. I was Strep B + so off to the hospital I went. My hospital of choice was a teaching hospital which only takes deliveries after 37 weeks. Since I was exactly 37 weeks I made them keep me. Took the intern who I nicknamed Dougie Howzer what felt like a million internal examinations to determine that yes my water did break. It was time to hook me up to my antibiotics. Since I was so swollen this took three tries and finally a senior nurse successfully inserted the IV. I still have scars from the attempts. At this point my blood pressure was quickly rising. I was barely a centimeter dilated. They decided to let me rest through the night and would induce me in the morning. This was great because Nick wouldn’t be on a flight till the next morning if at all. At 7am they started the induction medications. By lunch time I was 4.5 cm dilated and already in quite a bit of pain. I had an epidural and was told to try and sleep. By 1pm I was in so much pain. The epidural was not working. I was very weak. I told the nurse I was dying. I can’t explain without sound ridiculous but I could see the “bright lights”. I was begging anyone who’d listen for a C-section, the last thing I ever wanted. They instead gave me another epidural. My husband was on his way from Toronto. My poor friends I tell you, I don’t know what I would have done without them. I only wish they could have better advocated for me. Everyone just thought I was being a wimp. 6:28 pm and my blood pressure was 212 over 140 something. I had two epidurals, morphine, demurral, gas, with my husband and my Daddy by my side I started to seizure. My husband in his army greens went where he likely shouldn’t have been and found a doctor. A pic line was inserted into my artery and the Obstetrician said to my husband as they wheeled me away, “We will try and save your wife”. With no where for them to go but the waiting room and wait, Hannah was born at 649 pm perfectly healthy at 6lbs, 2 oz. Around 8pm is when I started to come through. All I remember is my Daddy by my side and me saying to the doctor, I told you I needed a C-section. My blood pressure was still through the roof so I was on 24 hour monitored care and medication. Nick was not allowed to stay with me nor was Hannah. I couldn’t nurse her because they were not sure the effects of the medication and were waiting for a proper safety analysis to be done. At around 3 am I became very coherent so my wonderful nurse brought me my baby girl. I just held her and cried. Within half an hour I started to crash like a junkie so I had to be sedated. I was woken by Nick and Hannah the next morning. Since I was still considered in critical condition with very high blood pressure and temperature I remained under 24 hour supervised care without being able to eat and drink very little and have very limited visitation until Sunday morning. This day they transferred me to a semi private room with another woman and her baby. I still had a catheter so I was not allowed to be unsupervised with Hannah. Nick had to sign a waiver that he would not leave Hannah alone in my care without him or another family member present. On Saturday evening was I able to start breastfeeding so they were at least letting be a mom in some way, while Nick was there at least. Sunday night my baby went back to the nursery, my husband and family went home and I was left with a stranger and her baby who cried all night long. I joined him. By Monday afternoon they took my catheter out because I am allergic to latex and they didn’t know if it was latex free and they couldn’t find an explanation as to why I still had a high fever. I was excited. It was so nice to shower and be free. I could keep my baby in my room. That was the best night ever. Hannah and I were finally able to bond. I just watched her sleep and held her close. We had so many visitors coming and going I barely got to hold her unless I was nursing her. Tuesday morning came along and I begged Nick to get me out of there. I was tired of being poked and prodded. I was tired of being told how lucky I was and that I should be grateful for the beautiful baby girl I have. If my Obstetrician hadn’t have been on duty that night there’s no way I would have went home. Two young handsome residents had already told me no way until my fever went away and BP lowered more. Well my tears were stronger because I was released. I waved to them as I was leaving the hospital. Going home was no smooth sailing. My husband had till Sunday before had to return to Ontario. I was on strong medication to reduce my blood pressure and increase my iron. Hannah had jaundice so we had daily visits with the pediatrician and health nurse. But the important part, we were home as a family. During these last few days we decided that we would do everything we could to move Hannah and I to Ontario and I would take my one year Maternity leave. By middle of October, Hannah and I were on a plane to our new home. </span></div>

<span lang="EN-CA">At this point though I was happy to be with my husband, I was so homesick. I was suffering from Post partum depression. The trauma from the birth was the furthest from my mind. I overcame the PPD as well as two more moves across the country, a retirement from my career, and finally settling in Edmonton as a family. I got to enjoy another year home with my baby girl. And now I’ve got a great part time job that gives me extra spending money but also keeps me at home during the day. Life was good but then it hit. I recently started having anxiety, panic attacks. My husband was scheduled to go to Yellowknife for 8 weeks. Nothing new as he’s gone away before but this time we were going to be leaving Hannah with her new babysitter whom we’d only know for a few weeks. All this bringing up all those emotions I felt that time ago having my baby being cared for by strangers while I lie there unable to move and care for her. I couldn’t sleep. I cried all the time. I was a wreck. My husband has always asked me for more babies to which I’ve always replied no. The thought of not making it the next time around for Hannah makes me sick to my stomach. She’s everything to me. Finally I had a huge meltdown in front of him. He finally had seen what the birth of Hannah did to me. I had been so good at keeping it in. He got the ball rolling and we have now gone to 5 therapy sessions. He was able to stay home from the Yellowknife exercise and will not be going anywhere until the therapist says it’s ok. Right now I feel defeated. I hate to be that wife who doesn’t let their hubby go away. I hate to be that person who needs help. I’m stronger than this. I’ve been through worse in my life and came out fine. I still feel guilty and I feel like therapy is a waste of time and I’m not going to be cured after our 8 free sessions. I’m stilling waiting for the “ah ha” moment. But then I’m trying to sleep and I start to cry thinking of my tiny baby all alone in a big room with bright lights and other babies crying around her and I know that I can’t feel guilty. I can’t feel ashamed. I need help. I’m not strong right now and if I’m not cured in 8 free sessions then suck it up and pay till you are better. It’ll only benefit yourself and everyone around you. </span></div>

The first thing I did was go and find games so we could do luau games. Then came the exciting news that we would be able to sample the new limited addition Hawaiian Huggies diapers. Our luau theme came just in time for the weather to get nice so we could do it outside. However the day of our luau games it was crazy windy! An excess of 50 km winds! However our mama`s are rock stars and braved the wind and joined me for our games!!<br />

<br />
We started off with a twist to musical chairs and did musical towels. In theory this is a great game, add a lot of wind and it doesn`t quite work. I am sure we spent more time chasing the towels down. I think we will try this game again but when we have less wind. We went old school and I brought my tape/CD player and the kids ran around with a gusto. <br />

<br />
Next was our kiwi relay races, the kids absolutely loved this game. Who knew putting kiwis on spoons and getting the kids to run around our boxes of Huggies diapers would be so entertaining. They played until the kiwis were dropped and or exploded open.<br />

<br />
Ever played duck, duck, goose? Make it luau and change it to shark, shark, fish! The kids were playing shy and didn't want to run around the circle, which meant us moms were picking the kids up and running for them! Oh man did it ever tire us out!<br />

<br />
First I have to say I have hips to bear children, however I do not have hips to maneuver a hula hoop. I was shown up by 4 year olds! It is a good thing that we had enough hula hoops for everyone because everyone participated in hula hoops.<br />

<br />
To finish off our games we had coconut bowling. Again fun in theory but with wind we had a hard time keeping the pins up but that didn't deter the kids from trying to bowl with coconuts. To close off our game we had a pudding eating contest! It was nice to have the Huggies wipes on hand to clean up the mess especially since we were at a park. Always a good way to end a day!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Back to our rock star mamas, even though we had the kids all bundled up because of the wind they still wanted to try the diapers on children! The children were also rock star because they thought that it was great running around in the colourful diapers. Thank you everyone who made it out to our event, you all made it a great success.<br />

This is a fantastic book that lets kids know that it is okay to be different and dance to your own beat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also the illustrations in the book are colourful and alive. The dancing animals bring out cute little giggles from the kids. This is definitely a book that can be read time and time again!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When we raffled off the book this month our winner was Riley!! <a href="http://momstown.ca/">momstown.ca</a> partners with <a href="http://www.scholastic.ca/" target="_blank">Scholastics </a>Canada, and every month we get to read and then raffle off a book that goes with our monthly theme. April`s theme was small animals and to go with that theme we read <a href="http://www.scholastic.ca/titles/iamsmall/index.htm" target="_blank"><i>I am Small</i></a> by Emma Dodd.<br />
<br />
When we all met for April`s Tales for Tots we brought our little stuffed animals to join us in reading <i>I am Small. </i>The book is visually striking and holds the attention of all the kids. While I was reading the book the kids noticed that I am small is
repeated through out the book and they started saying it out loud with
me while I was reading.<br />
<br />
This is such a sweet book, every time I read it I get choked up, and every time I read this book to my son I wish that we had our own small penguin! <br />
<br />
A big congratulations to this months winner Brendan!!<br />

<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">A couple of weeks ago I went on a local Facebook group for moms (not to be named) and they were discussing controversial parenting decisions. One of them was circumcision, so I thought I’d read on and see how that went over. </span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Oh my! I’ve never seen such judgement, and distasteful arguments in my life. There was swearing, name calling, judgmental comments like “I question your competence and ability to make educated choices for your children”.....really? It was like a high school cat fight.</span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">What is it about our choices as mothers that make us so heated? Why can’t we all respect each other’s decisions and agree to disagree? I’m all for a debate, or an expression of your opinion, but there is a point when people have to stop and question whether they’re just sharing their views, or just criticizing others to be right. </span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">While there are some choices that I feel strongly about as a mother, such as my daughter growing up a Christian, it does NOT make me determined in any way to force anyone else to see my perspective, or push it down their throats. As long as my choices are respected, I will show respect to those who disagree.</span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I think what these moms who engage in mommy politics are missing is the bigger picture: THERE IS NO RIGHT WAY TO PARENT. No matter how many studies are conducted, or how many people tell you you’re right, there will always be someone who sees their role differently, or has a different perspective about how a child should be raised.</span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Honestly, whether you cloth diaper or use disposables, rear face until your child is 15 or switch them at a year (okay, that’s the law, not really a parenting choice), circumcise or not, etc. etc. etc. there are many moms who will do it differently, and their children will be fine just the same. The child will not remember whether they were cloth diapered, or bottle fed, or any of those things. What they will know (we hope), is that regardless of the choices we made for them, we made every choice in their best interest, because we love them and want the best for them. We do the best we can. And pushing an opinion on someone else isn’t going to correct a wrong, it’s going to cause hurt, and resentment. Why? As moms, especially those that are new moms, we should be supporting each other’s choices. We know how hard being a mom is. We take heat from every side - in laws, husbands, seniors who always seem to have done it better 50 years ago, our own mothers....so now we’re turning on each other? We’re a team. We should support and respect each other. It’s tough to be a mom, and we do what we we feel is right, and what we can manage.</span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I went for a walk with one of our members the other day, and told her how disturbed I was over these cat fighting moms, and she pointed out that it’s hard for moms to find support like we have as momstown members. This is one of the many reasons I love momstown. Regardless of your choices, even if not everyone agrees with it, you’ll be respected, both on our message boards and in person. We all know that half the time, we’re just trying to SURVIVE. Who has time or energy to attack others? We know it’s hard. And the momstown mamas ARE a team, a support system. When our moms are having a hard time, we make them meals, offer our help, and encourage them. When everything is great, we celebrate and congratulate them. No attacks, or hate, no resentment or loneliness. Just love and support. Love it! </span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">And now for a little friendly reminder to the moms I witnessed cutting each other down on Facebook: </span></div>

So I thought I would do our own rendition of <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0137313/">Kids Say the Darndest Things</a>.<br />
<br />
One of our repeat offenders Jack:<br />
<br />
<em>Don't say no Mommy, it's bad for me. </em><br />
<br />
<em>I know mommy said no. But Jack says Yeeeessssssss.</em><br />
<br />
<em>Batman doesn't poop on the potty, so I don't have to either.</em><br />
<br />
<em>Mommy, where's Samaras penis (me: she doesn't have one) </em><em><br />You Broke It Off?! FIX IT!</em><br />
<br />
<em>Jack starts to cover me up. I ask him if I need it because I'm sick. <br />he says "no mommy, you're dying" </em><br />
<br />
<em>when he asked to go to my parents, they said no maybe next time. <br />"but grandma, don't you LOVE me anymore!?"</em><br />
<br />
<em>Jack was standing beside me and Samara was pestering/hittng him. He turns around, puts both hands on her shoulders, and starts with <br />"Look at me Samara. You Can't Hit People! you can hurt them. Say you're sorry and then go play"</em><br />
<br />
<br />
These are a cute duo:<br />
<br />
<em>Sean: Mommy I found a boogie. It was in my nose! Oh I found another one!</em><br />
<br />
<em>Sean: Can we go to Disneyland?</em><br />
<em>Sophie: Only way we're going to Disneyland is if I learn how to drive.</em><br />
<br />
<em>Sean: Mommy what's Santa's phone number, I forgot to tell him something.</em><br />
<br />
<em>Sean: We need some money.<br />Sophie: Better go to the dollar store then.</em><br />
<br />
<em>Me to Sean: Eat your veggies so you grow up to be big & strong.<br />Sean: No I wanna be short & fat like you.</em><br />
<br />
My son says very few words right now, however this night we knew exacty what he was saying:<br />
<br />
<em>DH is feeding lil man is bottle before bed, however he isn't staying still and is trying to roll around. DH says 'okay you must be finished' and puts the bottle on the nightstand. Lil man starts crying and points at his bottle and says 'Bad dad dad Bad dad dad. So DH gave him the bottle back and he calmly finished it. </em>We both burst out laughing!<br />
<br />
I always get a good chuckle when I read these, hope I put a smile on your face! What are some of the funniest things your little one(s) have oh so sincerely brought to your attention?<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
When I started writing <i><a href="http://momstown-edmontonnorth.blogspot.ca/2012/03/10-small-things.html">10 small things</a> </i><span style="font-style: normal;">I knew that I
could have filled all ten spots with stuff just from my child. So I
knew that I would have to dedicate one just to him!</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">I
definitely am a lot closer to both my parents, getting pregnant
seems to have mended unsaid issues we were having.</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">10
tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes, even to this day I love kissing his
little fingers and toes.</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">My
friend <a href="http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#%21/pages/Candice-Ryan-Fan-Page/108692762508251">Candice Ryan</a> making and singing a song for my little man for
his baby shower. I still cry whenever I listen to the recording of
it. Also so excited because she has recorded it and it will be
released on her album coming out this summer!</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">I
am not going to lie the first 3-4 months were not so great, I
struggled with baby blues and being borderline PPD, but what was
great was joining momstown and getting myself out of the
house and working my way out of my PPD.</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">His
first smile directed right at me!</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">The
first time he sat up all on his own and the great look of
concentration when he took those first 6 steps all on his own.</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">When
he finally said mom! And not dad for once</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">The
first time I watched him share a toy all on his own, I think I
almost even teared up a little</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">Those
tiny slobbery kisses that he gives</span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">Most
recently when I went to go pick him up from day home, this being his
first week and me having a really hard day, he crawled up in my lap
and just hugged me for almost a minute. Made my hard day instantly
melt away from me.</span></div>
</li>
</ul>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">I love
my little man and wouldn't change anything!</span></div>

<span style="color: black;">On our message board we have a <a href="http://edmonton-north.momstown.ca/node/10170#comment-75135"><i>whats for dinner</i> <i>tonight??</i></a> thread. Everyone posts what they're having and if someone is interested in the recipe, the recipes are shared. One of our fantastic moms, (who frequently posts on this thread) with our not so subtle hinting has started a blog of her own encompassing many of her delicious meal ideas and recipe trials. Once a month she will send us a delicious recipe that she has tried and share with us how it went!! <span style="font-size: small;">This month's is:</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b></span></div>
<div style="color: #0b5394;">
</div>
<div style="color: #0b5394;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Grilled Red Snapper</b></span></div>
<br />
<i><span style="color: blue;"><b><span style="color: #073763;"><u>Ingredients</u></span></b></span></i><br />
<br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1/4 </span><span style="color: #073763;">cup softened butter</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 tsp grated lime zest</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 tsp lime juice</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;"><u>1/2 tsp coarsely ground pepper</u> </span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">2 tbsp lime juice</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">2 tbsp tex mex seasoning</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 tbsp packed brown sugar</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 tbsp olive oil</span></span><br />
<u><span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 tsp coarse salt</span></span></u><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">1 1/2lbs Red Snapper fillets</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;">Beat
first 4 ingredients until creamy. Spoon onto a sheet of wax paper and
form into a 2 inch long cylinder. Wrap tightly and put in freezer for
about 1 hour or until firm. <br /><br />Combine next 5 ingredients and
spread over fillets. Chill covered for about 30 minutes. Place fillets
on a sheet of greased heavy duty (or double layer of regular) tin foil.
Cook on direct medium heat for 8-10 minutes until fish flakes easily
when tested with a fork. Serve with sliced lime butter. Serves 6. <br /><br />1 Serving is only 223 calories! </span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;"><span style="color: #660000;"><u>Why did I make this?:</u>
My kids Love fish, but I usually want something with a lot of flavor.
Plus I like recipes that don't have that fishy taste. It seems pretty
easy to make, and easy on the diet. </span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: #073763;"><span style="color: #660000;"><u>Was it any good?: </u> The kids two handed it into their mouths. James was a big fan of the
butter slices which really topped off the whole recipe. I can definitely
see making this again. This would be good with almost any fish. <br /><br /><u>What would/did I change:</u>
I was STILL out of propane (seems to be the going fad in this
household) so I had to broil the recipe. It did cook fine but I think
bbq would make it that much better. I forgot to pat dry the fish before
spreading on the spread so next time I have to remember to do that. It
made it a bit hard to get the spread on and seems a bit too wet while
cooking. Tex mex seasoning I wasn't sure what they meant, so I just used
low sodium taco seasoning, it tasted just fine! We topped this on a bed
of salad with lemon juice squeezed all over it. Really made the meal. </span></span></span><br />

Recipe calls for 2 slices of the lime butter on the fish. But really a
tiny bit goes a long way, especially if you let it melt a little bit to
spread it all over the fish. <br /><br />We also had to scrape a bit of the spread off of the cooked fish for Samara, she had a hard time with the spice of the spread. </span></span></span><br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The other day we made these really cute
fridge magnets. They are fairly easy and super fun to
decorate and they're handy for the fridge!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Supplies you will need (I picked up all
of it at Walmart and Zellers):</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
One foam sheet</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Scissors</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Glue</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Piece of paper</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Ruler</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Magnet strips with one side of adhesive</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anything to decorate your frame</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAfNsd7ZtUbSDw_XlfGceILxB8DCY0KFjcI_T5piLtWWHiZGv3CQvmkvcbKn8x-A_tfKKSxYT9A6z6xNMx4Zh8VabsWwNK2PVx-acyRaKh8Efu7nqBtQjo5JerhLi7j4k2jsPhZ2H59xo/s1600/IMG_1604.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="149" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAfNsd7ZtUbSDw_XlfGceILxB8DCY0KFjcI_T5piLtWWHiZGv3CQvmkvcbKn8x-A_tfKKSxYT9A6z6xNMx4Zh8VabsWwNK2PVx-acyRaKh8Efu7nqBtQjo5JerhLi7j4k2jsPhZ2H59xo/s200/IMG_1604.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Moms you will have to do the first part
of cutting out the frame and gluing the paper to the back side. On
one side of the foam sheet you will make 2cm marks all round
the corners, like the pictures below. Then cut out the center, this
will be your frame. I used an exacto knife and a ruler, however you
can just use scissors.<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIvj47__BJOXwKmwEgZ7Ns69zSEtJt-7tcsl3EA4opprW2-ERHhS3Gn1ZQLeoSVfo_7N-ONswTck4hz4d_gW8awBHEUIojOtCENLX_79aaXd-sko0GCv_pEHZlTlCV7EYWZEI98MyDnyI/s1600/IMG_1605.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="149" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIvj47__BJOXwKmwEgZ7Ns69zSEtJt-7tcsl3EA4opprW2-ERHhS3Gn1ZQLeoSVfo_7N-ONswTck4hz4d_gW8awBHEUIojOtCENLX_79aaXd-sko0GCv_pEHZlTlCV7EYWZEI98MyDnyI/s200/IMG_1605.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQzYRNYbFTdKfkHcJinc8zDObpzdVXS27tufhlxZ2MybSFrBMVNXZ0zHjs5s4mkkjebpDID9cHaoV_oVNvetCJ5mKSVxhdr7bKO-7bf6N0vnf52aJVU7v8LkYLmRJpwwcOVFeQInNUKEw/s1600/IMG_1607.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQzYRNYbFTdKfkHcJinc8zDObpzdVXS27tufhlxZ2MybSFrBMVNXZ0zHjs5s4mkkjebpDID9cHaoV_oVNvetCJ5mKSVxhdr7bKO-7bf6N0vnf52aJVU7v8LkYLmRJpwwcOVFeQInNUKEw/s200/IMG_1607.JPG" width="149" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Once you have the frame cut out, cut a
piece of paper 1/2 cm smaller than the frame. You will then glue the
piece of paper to the frame. Let it sit for half an hour so it can
dry.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwftew0_GSS8BA1FW-ogFrC0hYrBwBU5jLaRxxebvcR-O1ijhMlqK8E_RFp8lBqFuQKkgat7uFXc_AlRBZ39RbF1y-qRTWdinm2O885aGlznYRguWTFBy1oaM0j9WR4f5z01NUU9PJMQ8/s1600/IMG_1609.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwftew0_GSS8BA1FW-ogFrC0hYrBwBU5jLaRxxebvcR-O1ijhMlqK8E_RFp8lBqFuQKkgat7uFXc_AlRBZ39RbF1y-qRTWdinm2O885aGlznYRguWTFBy1oaM0j9WR4f5z01NUU9PJMQ8/s200/IMG_1609.JPG" width="148" /></a><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq0ZLFIxV8oJWc8tmqI01qL2cF_oUoZ4AnRLpX8FYprlWcUHvrHbn-lHRxGh58MyAqM7N-iOjnIZ36ytZJ8b8ERuHTLk8lvGjtnqa1ybuxc965DM4jzYzyQ2HhTcJ_Z1O6WqS8r45XkD4/s200/IMG_1608.JPG" width="149" /> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Flip it over and place the adhesive side of
the magnet onto the frame </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOVygZzpR6V4RkgmMto7Ou4HBNFQsGcvbGCQzs8nS6ZmwZBgdNhT2ehhDuBceFTbfLBb3NXiJyniNvQgYzW0TCYUdBfoYbYIWlFAITeWRImvwvPQTYe8xDp8CENJryrAfWa5re7plozoo/s1600/IMG_1610.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOVygZzpR6V4RkgmMto7Ou4HBNFQsGcvbGCQzs8nS6ZmwZBgdNhT2ehhDuBceFTbfLBb3NXiJyniNvQgYzW0TCYUdBfoYbYIWlFAITeWRImvwvPQTYe8xDp8CENJryrAfWa5re7plozoo/s320/IMG_1610.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Now the fun part! Decorate as you see
fit. You can colour you name into it like we did or you can put the
kids hand prints on them. Or you can decorate the whole frame itself
like below. Your imagination is your creation!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikcFVtbstgOi71iIssFYKYuv27cMkiziKHyeFMfoCUGkyoyvx-GyrtAIoFzE-pQ4QQXqcWkLTA68aRQd0iLqyP40v_6K85XUL7j_C6dJYqo22MF0pOeh8GGf4ELTC6TmesHsvou5-imfg/s1600/IMG_1611.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikcFVtbstgOi71iIssFYKYuv27cMkiziKHyeFMfoCUGkyoyvx-GyrtAIoFzE-pQ4QQXqcWkLTA68aRQd0iLqyP40v_6K85XUL7j_C6dJYqo22MF0pOeh8GGf4ELTC6TmesHsvou5-imfg/s320/IMG_1611.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: center;">
Now your new fridge magnet is ready!</div>

If not you should definitely read this great smelling book! This months book from <a href="http://www.scholastic.ca/">Scholasics Canada</a> is <a href="http://momstown-artsandcrafts.momstown.ca/node/535"><i>How do Dinosaurs Eat Cookies?</i></a> We all met at <a href="http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/home/storeLocator/storeDetails/413/">Indigo Kids</a> on Saturday morning to dive into this months book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This months momstown theme is the 5 senses! <i>How do Dinosaurs Eat Cookies? </i>covers<i> </i>two of five senses, visual and smell. Smell you may ask? Yup, smell! This book is also a scratch and sniff. We literally had our noses in a book and had some good giggles about dinosaurs shopping and making cookies!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglQHqJUH_jSlM2pPqOEk1WMYcSEhefMseNLLb4WN228kluCl4OjZvDVFvo1LJ_VixVWaxb6OCbDxigVCih7zbpROxwpISyb5bmqZR7VmpEHS_g_6Zwljq8XVGN32Stu7YCQdk7mWpIR0Y/s1600/thecelebrationshoppe_dinosaurcookiecutters.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglQHqJUH_jSlM2pPqOEk1WMYcSEhefMseNLLb4WN228kluCl4OjZvDVFvo1LJ_VixVWaxb6OCbDxigVCih7zbpROxwpISyb5bmqZR7VmpEHS_g_6Zwljq8XVGN32Stu7YCQdk7mWpIR0Y/s200/thecelebrationshoppe_dinosaurcookiecutters.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
What is also neat about this book is that it has two cookies recipes at the end to make your very own dinosaur cookies! <br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The other day we went to pick up a few groceries and I got caught in the clothing section. Usually I
just walk through, look and touch (I am like one of those kids that
have to touch everything!) and then go on my way. However I have
started to notice my closet is looking sub-par and what I do find
makes me feel self conscious. DH noticed that I was lingering longer
than usual in the clothing area, so he told me to pick a few new things, even he'd noticed they were needed. Which made me think, if he is noticing my
clothing then others are noticing my clothing :s
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I didn't go crazy but I did get two
outfits worth of clothing and basic essentials. When I got home I did
the usual cut off all the tags and wash everything so that I could
wear it all right away! The next day when I was putting on my new
clothing it all felt so good! It made me feel just that little bit
better. While putting on my new socks, it made me think, that I love
new socks, which got me thinking about other small things that put a smile on my face.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>You already know the first one!
New socks! I love them don't know what I would do with out them.
They make me almost want to strut.</li>
<li>If you have new socks you need a
good pedicure, your feet will just sing with soft skin and pretty
painted toes! I will just stare at my toes when they have a nice
design on them. Even my son plays with my toes when they are
painted.</li>
<li>Pre baby I loved sleeping in, I
did it all the time. Post baby I love sleeping in, though it only happens maybe
once a month if daddy lets me.</li>
<li>Hot showers, not the usual 5
minutes I get now, but the steaming hot 20 minutes that wash away
all the worries from a hard day.</li>
<li>A good cry your heart out<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0431308/"> romantic comedy</a>, I always feel so much better afterwards. Toss in a little bit of cookie dough ice cream, and you made my ideal Friday night!</li>
<li>A haircut is a great feeling. Right along with strutting with my new socks, I will be tossing my
new locks over my shoulders! LOL</li>
<li>Dipping food in <a href="http://momstown-edmontonnorth.blogspot.com/2012/02/fantastic-mamas-night-out-at-melting.html">cheese and chocolate</a>!!! Enough said.</li>
<li>Watching my child grow and learn.
Everyday he is doing something new and it is wonderful to watch.</li>
<li>Whether we are in the truck or at
home, just turning up the music and dancing. We do it as a family
and sometimes it is just Logan and I, but I love it and it makes
everything better.</li>
<li>And of course, coming across money
in a random coat pocket that I haven't worn in a while.</li>
</ul>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

Our Kellogg's Share Your Breakfast event was a great success! Knowing that so many people, especially children, go without breakfast each day, was a calling for momstown and Kellogg's to raise the roof, and create some awareness around this issue. And so, we shared some breakfast, and had some fun.....all in the name of a good cause of course!<br />

Kellogg's provided us with 192 breakfast kits to donate to our community, to spread the love, so we decided to donate our kits to Terra's breakfast program. For those of you that don't know Terra supports Braemar school for parenting teens, helping young moms in many ways, including making sure they get breakfast each day. We donated 150 breakfast kits to Terra, and our event attendees took home many kits to give out to people in their communities that are in need of a full tummy! All in all the awareness created by this event and the full tummies that resulted from it made the day complete.<br />

We get to play with the seniors in long term care, this month we had extra fun! We were lucky to have a bubble machine brought out for the kids enjoyment. They jumped around and tried to catch as many bubble as they could.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA0eA7cqDwFJ5MtnS597ikHT2BKun1nIIyfLe05fbgb-Lwnv1RKBHbSL9g4MNss8SGdzIlXCKFTcVZ8Vr5_pgyRxQ8TwvT69vKeZCYD84MzuBzYQWAG0s033OWR_HncCCFG_Wk9KqHCwo/s1600/DSC00757.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA0eA7cqDwFJ5MtnS597ikHT2BKun1nIIyfLe05fbgb-Lwnv1RKBHbSL9g4MNss8SGdzIlXCKFTcVZ8Vr5_pgyRxQ8TwvT69vKeZCYD84MzuBzYQWAG0s033OWR_HncCCFG_Wk9KqHCwo/s320/DSC00757.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
They brought out big bowling pins and the kids got to line them up and knock 'em down. The residents joined in with the fun tossing balloons around to each other and kicking balls back and forth between the kids. It was great to see so many of the seniors smiling and laughing while watching the children having fun. It got them reminiscing about when their children were that small and about the grandchildren they currently have.<br />

When I found out that I had been asked to review this table, I was ecstatic. At 10.5 months old my little one still refused to stand up, and I was hoping this would be the motivation she needed. When we received the table, I was trying to attach the four legs (super easy assembly), Gabrielle wouldn't stop lunging at it. After I got it set up, she cried, realizing that it was too high for her to see from her very comfortable seat on the floor. So, I tried to stand her up, and for the first time, she did! Finally!<br />

She's been playing with this table for about a week now, and anytime we set foot in our living room she points to it. All the excitement of the telephone rattle, the brilliant songs and lights, and the two page book with animals keeps her entertained while I get much needed housework done. The different modes allow for different types of learning and interaction, though my daughter is currently obsessed with the "music" mode so we haven't experimented a lot with the other modes. </div>

I love that each of the corners of this table is an activity in itself. The laptop has lights, shapes, colours, and songs of its own, and it closes and opens. The telephone plays a brilliant "the phone is ringing so I say hello" song that both Gabrielle and her daddy LOVE. The phone actually comes off, so it's a toy in itself, which is a bonus. The book, Gabrielle's favourite, flips pages and changes songs each time the child moves it. And lastly, the piano. It has officially replaced the musical toy our daughter liked so much...it's fantastic!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">
All in all, I love this toy as a parent, and I know my daughter would agree. It'll keep her entertained long after she's walking, and it's a toy that will be fought over when there are other kids over for a playdate. It's tons of fun, but isn't mindless, so I can be confident letting my child spend as much time as she wants playing with it. The big bonus is the multiple modes, so that we can rotate between words and music, meaning this toy will likely never get old in my daughter's eyes! Great selection of activities, great lights and songs, great table!</div>

It
was the first time a big group of us mamas have gotten to get
together since Amanda and I have taken over sans kiddos , with the exception of a few cute recent additions to the group. It
was a great experience for me, as I have never had fondue before. I
didn't really know what to expect, I had been told mixed reviews
about the place so I went in with an open mind.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;">We just did the
chocolate and cheese party, we got to choose 2 out of 5 cheeses and
2 chocolates out of 8 for our meal. When we arrived in the party room
our cheese was already out on the table being kept warm. It smelt so
good! We tried the cheddar and spinach and artichoke. We got a
variety of samples to dip into the cheese, pieces of different
breads and tortilla chips, apples, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.
I have to say my favourite was dipping the apples into the spinach
and artichoke cheese. I can almost taste it in my mouth as I am

<br />
I'm not sure how many of you have had a chance to watch this video, it went viral about two weeks ago. This is a father's rebuttal to a daughter who wrote her parents a disrespectful letter about how she felt she was being treated and posted it on her Facebook page, to which she believed her parents were blocked from viewing it. By the sounds of it this wasn`t the first time she has done something along the same lines of this and had been grounded previously for it. This father is at his wits end on how to deal with his disrespectful daughter and his solution is to call her out on it on Facebook and then shoots her laptop showing her he means business.<br />
<br />
The first time I watch the video it made me chuckle with wide eyed astonishment. My first thoughts were good on ya! Then as I saw the video pop up more and more I started reading all the comments that everyone was leaving. There were comments agreeing with what he did and other comments that didn`t agree with the way he went about it.<br />
<br />
The more I thought about this video I slowly changed the way I thought about it. When I actually thought about it as a parent, my view on this video started leaning towards being on the fence. That is where I sit now. As that teenage girl I would have been mortified enough just to have my dad leave a video on my Facebook page calling me out on the letter. That would have been punishment enough for me. I do think that shooting the laptop was a little overboard. He states more then once that he spent at least 130 dollars on upgrade to the laptop and after he shoots it he talks about how expensive the bullets are. If that was me, after spending my time and money on the upgrades, I would have reset the computer to factory settings so no personal information was on it then sold it and kept the money.<br />
<br />
The only thing that really sticks in my mind is, doesn't the father doing the exact same thing his daughter did in some sense condone what she did? Maybe he exhausted all other options in disciplining his daughter, who knows? I no longer say good on him, but maybe his daughter likes public antics because he like public antics?<br />
<br />
My son being only 10 months, I don't know what it is like to deal with a hormonal teenage girl so for now my opinion is the way it is until I have to go through something like that. Maybe buy her a diary for her to vent, one day she will realize that the small amount of chores she has to do is nothing in comparison to taking care of a whole home. Will shooting her laptop create more problems between them or make the point and get her to start listening? I don't know.Maybe they will post more videos and write more letters to let us all know how it turns out.<br />

Robert Munsch, <i>We Share Everything</i><span style="font-style: normal;">!
A great tale of two children starting daycare and they are used to
having everything for themselves. Amanda and Jeremiah learn that "in daycare we share everything". </span><span style="font-style: normal;">The characters go through a number of tiffs which leads their teacher
to teach them a lesson over and over- that </span><i>we share everything. </i>It's then that <span style="font-style: normal;">Amanda and Jeremiah take her seriously and start exchanging
clothing! The momstown kiddos thought that that was pretty funny! </span></div>

free Positive Parenting webinar. The topic is discipline, and how to
get your children to listen to you without having to nag or yell. Some
of the momstown mamas and I were talking about it, and how great it is
to be able to have these tactics up your sleeve when your kids are
acting out. As our children grow, there will be (have been) times where
we run out of ideas. We don't know what to say our do, and we have to
figure out what, out of all the advice we get, is going to work for our
family.<br />
<br />
When my nieces were living with us, although
they were only 2 and 3, they knew exactly who to listen to and when. In
other words, they knew that I didn't know how to deal with their
misbehaviour, so they walked all over me, but listened to their Uncle
like angels. How great would it have been to have someone from the
outside offer guidance, and a different perspective. Ugh, I wish. In
hindsight, I can tell you exactly what I would've done differently. But
as parents, we don't get the opportunity to sit back and examine the
situation before dealing with it. So we have to use the good ol' Girl
Guide rule: ALWAYS BE PREPARED.<br />
<br />
This webinar will help
us prepare, give us some perspective and some tactics to use when we
think we're out of ideas. So I'll be doing what one of the other mamas
suggested to me yesterday- I'm going to take notes and use them when my
sweet little angel tests my limits, and I'm pretty sure I've run out of
ideas. So if you haven't registered to join us, follow this link and register to
join in!<br />

I hadn't had the chance to read the book before our Kids Book Club, so reading it with them was even more enjoyable as we got to experience it together. Barbara Reid is a fantastic story teller. We loved finding out how Scott and Jim started out working by themselves to make fantastic snow creations at recess, only to realize if they work together they can make the greatest snow creations as a team. Even the end of the book left it open for the kids imagination. Reading about snow forts and snowmen made me wish for a little bit more snow!<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
We originally purchased a highchair for
our son. To be honest we didn't put much thought into it. I started
looking at the ones I thought looked the best rather than
practicality. The one we ended up with is very big, and <i>always</i> in the way in our small kitchen. I cannot count the many times my DH and I have
tripped, kicked and run into it. So when I got the chance to
try out Fisher Prices' Space Saver High Chair I was super excited.

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Assembly was actually quite easy. The
hardest part was fighting our lovely son for the pieces while putting it
together. Before we attached it to our kitchen chair we sat him in the
seat and tried out the seat and tray into the different positions that
they sit in. The seat reclines which is great for an infant to just
relax in the chair while you are in the kitchen or eating at the
table. Also, if you have the seat reclined you can still have the tray
on and move it to different positions, which is great! </div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
We love the way that the seat is shaped like a bucket seat, it makes it harder for my son to try to climb out of or hang off the side, so I am noticing less food on the floor. The tray is also wonderful,
it has deep sides so that food stays on the tray, even when our little one is
swishing his food all over the place, and it wipes off very easily. </div>

<span style="font-style: normal;"> When
the fabric on the chair got too messy, it was easy to remove and
clean. I put it through the washer and hung it to dry, and it come out without a stain
on it. As mamas, who doesn't love something that doesn't stain easily?! Also we tried the chair without the fabric and it worked well
that way, too. </span>I would definitely recommend it to whoever is
looking for a chair and wished we looked into this option before we got a huge highchair (which is now in the corner being used
as storage). A great product, with so many great aspects!<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
A while back I was discussing with a
another mom about my family's love of popcorn. We use an air popper
but once the baby is in bed it is a little loud and usually wakes him
up. Then another mom brought this wonderful idea to light and we
tried it last night and it is awesome! And for those of you who buy bags of popcorn, this way is just as easy and less expensive...and doesn't have anything added so it's healthier!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
All you need is:</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Popcorn Kernels
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Brown Bag</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Tape (to keep it shut)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0pPitzMiaR2zS2-_kFXDzcG5wNIS_Z_VKvmM9LzFU5nUixKh5_2mSUqKWMbkYhRikrxkhyphenhyphenFFQGQzcqP35w9cKo7uQ7q-ZRjDJOkJetIzv_VL1IKTkSq6OC9LSWrIev7dUSCwIyYBylWQ/s1600/IMG_1460.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0pPitzMiaR2zS2-_kFXDzcG5wNIS_Z_VKvmM9LzFU5nUixKh5_2mSUqKWMbkYhRikrxkhyphenhyphenFFQGQzcqP35w9cKo7uQ7q-ZRjDJOkJetIzv_VL1IKTkSq6OC9LSWrIev7dUSCwIyYBylWQ/s320/IMG_1460.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Put about 1/4 cup of kernels in the
unopened brown bag. Fold the end over and put a piece of
tape to hold it closed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq0GdPim15HSDcwb6Ky_RAh-hl7pPp61TKqmVXDGrcho_UfT0VyABA82w_wFyI34axEHKEOB7W0eMsYO-6v1mzeX9X0btjkGMsDtmWkSh8cTrskzHuVDjmpLGcPhxiC5W7T_sr5oIQses/s1600/IMG_1461.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq0GdPim15HSDcwb6Ky_RAh-hl7pPp61TKqmVXDGrcho_UfT0VyABA82w_wFyI34axEHKEOB7W0eMsYO-6v1mzeX9X0btjkGMsDtmWkSh8cTrskzHuVDjmpLGcPhxiC5W7T_sr5oIQses/s320/IMG_1461.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Place the bag in the microwave so the
bottom is facing up, so that it can expand. Time varies for every
microwave. Start with 3 minutes and listen for the popping to
decrease to two or three seconds in between pops.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Open carefully, it will be hot. Add
popcorn toppers if you like them or eat it plain!</div>

We will be doing this if we feel like
popcorn while the baby is in bed. Another interesting idea that I

We had some momstown members join us and a few hopefully soon to be new members join us in making crowns! The crowns were simple to make and fun to wear. Here is a guide to make them at home.</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">Supplies:</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">coloured paper</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">scissors</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">glue stick or tape</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">foam stickers and jewels </div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">Once you have decided on the colour of paper you want for your crown. Cut the paper down the middle with the design you want for the top of your crown.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggtuOcD2HsrvhlME-XcsVKPsDO6xTGQgRCNd1LDU1NF1s1RvCTN-CRQEQTxzZse1KM_BZGMXXRqzTuif9IJlpCjaNjgVzDf0Q3YM90APxDDr2kXij0htIwSCMysndyDrhd0zgbCYBGAaQ/s1600/IMG_1413.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="149" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggtuOcD2HsrvhlME-XcsVKPsDO6xTGQgRCNd1LDU1NF1s1RvCTN-CRQEQTxzZse1KM_BZGMXXRqzTuif9IJlpCjaNjgVzDf0Q3YM90APxDDr2kXij0htIwSCMysndyDrhd0zgbCYBGAaQ/s200/IMG_1413.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">Then match your two pieces together and cut a strip off the bottom. This will be for the inside of your crown so it doesn't slip down your head.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNl6JLbupCX4-NsVo2b9pSGviTSIBEc_fgNYrKyUrdaiDtc1dXCyI08q6rOhiY81S7pk2qdjL6Aw-VVf5WVSyUW19T3LVdicWYAlfyg4HMoUnWXu1d_ZVfrppy-PGAJzpAecml1wBLmoQ/s1600/IMG_1414.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNl6JLbupCX4-NsVo2b9pSGviTSIBEc_fgNYrKyUrdaiDtc1dXCyI08q6rOhiY81S7pk2qdjL6Aw-VVf5WVSyUW19T3LVdicWYAlfyg4HMoUnWXu1d_ZVfrppy-PGAJzpAecml1wBLmoQ/s200/IMG_1414.JPG" width="149" /></a></div><div align="left" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
